Taking a deep dive into Davos, the town located at highest altitude in Europe: Introducing the common residents of traditional farmers, skiers, refugees, immigrated cheap laborers, punks and cloud tech money, Davos too plays host to movers and shakers, and many of the most influential world leaders from Merkel to Trump, from Sandberg to Gates. Much of what drives our world becomes paradigmatic in Davos: farmers who work as they did centuries ago, in contrast to the global elite, who operate without being tied to a particular place, virtually without touching the ground. Davos is a film about capitalism in our fractured world, about equilibrium and contrast in our society, about the impact of the powerful to the many, hoping to make their difference on a global scale, but on a small scale already unwittingly shifting the balance of power: Cultural shifts and conflicts are made visible by the people living in Davos.
