The film is a portrait of lives, a portrait of people with different life plans, set in our time. It confronts the audience with different ways of mastering life - the spectator is prompted to contemplate her life in relation. The film ultimately asks about the meaning of life, about how to fill out life between birth and death, about how to enjoy life. Documentary miniatures portray diverse protagonists of the same generation: from the forest owner family in their lavish home, to the female factory worker.
