His first screenplay was written for his brother, Pierre Prévert, the director of L’Affaire est dans le sac (1932). Benjamin Déboisé, a hatter, wants to kidnap the son of the king of the blotting paper, the billionaire Hollister. He prepares the trap with his employee and the daughter of Hollister as he is in love with her. They succeed but the kidnapers find out that they have been mistaken and they have indeed kidnapped the rich man himself….
