It is almost January 6th, Epiphany, and Romes Piazza Navona is packed with people. It is so crowded that, for Adriana, kidnapping little Carletto from his mother Laura is child play. Lauras immediate, tearful reaction is to turn to her companion, Giangilberto. How is she to know that Giangilberto actually organized the kidnapping? The story begins and ends in the space of a single day, on the streets of Rome, where the lives of bankers and journalists intersect those of prostitutes and immigrants from faraway countries, all in front of the innocent eyes of Carletto, the merchandise being exchanged in this absurd transaction.
