Born to dance, Neneh is a 12-year-old black girl who has just entered the Paris Opera ballet school. Despite her enthusiasm, she will have to work twice as hard to escape her social environment and be accepted by the director of the school Marianne Bellage. The latter, a former star dancer, is indeed the embodiment of ballet and bears a secret that connects her to the little ballerina.
