Synopsis
After completing morning prayers, Marwa and her husband Khalid discover that Phase III has begun. Incensed, Marwa quickly responds to her husband
that it is his fault and weak character that has left the family in such a desperate place. Now, as their friends and fellow Muslims are being collected, their future
lies in question.
As the morning progresses their children (Farah 16, Ramy 13 and Aida 5) join them for another breakfast of canned food, it becomes clear that the family has
been locked in their home for weeks as the new government coup has criminalized Islam and all Muslims placing them under house arrest. As the television reporter explains, this is all part of the government's new strategic plan; R.I.D. Phase I
Register (all Muslims are to be registered), Phase II Isolation (Isolate Muslims to their homes) and Phase Ill Detainment (all Muslims are to be detained) is now in
effect, elevating citizen watch and responsibility to report Muslim activity.
Their neighbours, Frank (a mall security cop), his wife Mila (a violinist with unrealistic dreams) and their daughter Eva (secretly best friends with Farah),
watch the news as Phase III has commenced. All Muslim property is now up for grabs and citizens who prevent Muslims from departing until the authorities
arrive, the Muslim homes will belong to those who aid the government and their new agenda.
Faced with eviction for defaulting on his payments, Frank sees this as an opportunity to save his family from losing their home and taking over such
a luxurious house where Marwa and her family live.
Marwa insists they must leave immediately. Khalid learns from other Arab friends that there's a meeting point to escape by the river. As Marwa and her
family get ready to flee, their garage door opens revealing Frank standing there with a gun and as other neighbours gather, the family is held hostage.
Greed, racism, and fear lead to an unexpected escalation. Will the family make it?
