Synopsis

The story of this short film is located in the foggy and polluted capital Skopje, in the winter period when people spend more time looking at the devices for measuring pollution than their televisions.

We wake up in a modern and well situated family, that besides all the benefits it has, it is not spared from the polluted air in Skopje. The husband is a local businessman, he doesn’t have an academic degree, but earns quite well, and the wife is a doctor and is very dissatisfied with her salary and working conditions. Despite all the healthy food in the world and air purifiers, all of them constantly cough, , especially the children whose fragile health is most affected.

So the main question is whether to move away to another city or stay in their hometown. The woman insists that they should leave the capital while the husband hesitates because he doesn’t want to give up the role of a main provider in the family to the wife.

But as the days go by, the constant pollution worsens the health condition of one of their children, and the eternal question becomes not only a serious problem for their children but also an existential problem for their entire family.

They decide, however, to leave the country and we see them together at the airport where the parents smoke a cigarette while waiting their next flight. Obviously the decision has been made. But, sometimes, even when you leave your hometown does not always mean that you leave your habits behind.
