Ten years ago, brothers Alfonso and Tobias severed old connection between them after the latter's wife and child both died in an accident. In all this time, Tobias has lead a solitary life, strongly attached to his routines and obsessions: attending his bookstore, obsessively changing street lights, and taking the same picture of the mountain and the lake every morning at the same time. One day, Alfonso resurfaces, unexpectedly and insistingly, on his brother's phone - their father is dying. Determined to stay away, Tobias leaves town and takes shelter in a cabin near the town of Guatavita. There, he meets Samantha, a young Argentine artist who is stuck in Bogotá trying to recover from a past love affair.
