In 1990s Taipei, Truly (Vivian Sung) is a plain, clumsy and unnoticed high school girl, who just happens to be in love with the most popular guy in school. Taiyu (Darren Wang) is a ruffian and school bully, who just happens to be enamored with the campus belle. In a quirky twist of fate, Taiyu invites Truly to join forces in a lonely-hearts club for losers in love, the “Association of the Dumped”. Their mission: to break up the school’s secret “it couple” so that they could divide the spoils of victory and gain the hand of the one they loved. When Taiyu runs afoul of the school authorities, his parents send him overseas, leaving Truly without any way to contact him. Eighteen years later, the older Truly (Joe Chen) encounters Taiyu (Jerry Yan) at an Andy Lau concert, and their friendship and romance is rekindled once again as they relive the good times they once shared.
