Well-known television producer Ren Zhi Hao (Chau) gets a chance to return to the pinnacle of his career by directing a new project set in a burned down psychiatric hospital where he believes there are mysterious happenings related to a malevolent spirit. In the ruins of the hospital a diary is found written by the sole survivor of the fire, Wu Ruo Xin (Wang). Ren begins to interview Wu and during their meetings she describes numerous unsettling events at the hospital. Furthermore, mystery surrounds the hospital’s seemingly amiable director, Victor (Knepper).
