Seen by his teachers as a typical delinquent student, Hei (Wong) is given one last chance but on one condition: he must join a nine-month pilot programme which brings together students from three underperforming schools to form a classical choir and participate in an inter-school choral competition. Although brutally mocked as a “rock bottom choir”, the renowned conductor Yim Tsz-long (Lau) – known as the “Nightmare Maestro” – agrees to lead the youngsters after spending a year in seclusion. So just what will happen when 30 “problem” students meet a demanding, emotionless instructor and will they be able to stand on stage with their heads held high?
