In the village of Hanato, after a thick fog appears a traditional Noh play is performed by torchlight. Living in Hanato is Yu Katayama. Working in a nearby recycling plant, he has little hope in his life. But that changes when childhood friend Misaki Nakai returns from Tokyo.

One night in the village Hanato, a thick fog appears. Torches are lit in the woods and under a mysterious atmosphere a traditional Noh play is performed by torchlight. Yu Katayama (Yokohama) is a young man who lives in the remote but beautiful Hanato. Living there since he was a child, he has been unable to leave due to an incident in his past. To pay off a debt owed by his mother, Yu works in a nearby recycling plant. But he lives without a dream or hope in his life. One day, Misaki Nakai (Kuroki) returns to the village from Tokyo. They were childhood friends and her return changes Yu.
