Tatsuo (Fuji) and his 40-something daughter Haru (Aso) run Takano Tofu Store in Onomichi. They begin their work before dawn every day, carefully selecting beans to make their highly sought after tofu. When Tatsuo learns he is in poor health, he begins to worry about his daughter being alone after his death. And so, with the help of friends, he sets about planning a secret matchmaking strategy to find Haru a partner before the spring.
