Thomas Gardesse, a travelling alarm systems salesman, is arrested and sentenced to six months imprisonment for a minor offence. In a bid to win, the respect of his fellow inmates, he pretends to be "The Marquis", a genius in robberies whose identity has remained a mystery. Fifteen days before his release, an armed robber named Quentin Tasseau breaks him out of jail and takes him to Manila so he can take part in a robbery whose master mind requires The Marqui's talents...
