Synopsis

City in Red presents a reflection on violence by those who lack a vocation for violence and who are spurred on it. When violence is imposed, sometimes the only option to restore peace is to have a violent reaction too, a violence that can be deemed legitimate and in self-defense, but that is still violence and leaves a mark on human beings. This reflection is not abstract, but rather arises out of a new interpretation of the characters and the plot of the novel entitled Bertillón 166 as well as the history of Santiago de Cuba during the final days of the fifties.
