A rabies outbreak has appeared in the small village where Virginia lives. Her father Emilio travels to help his brother in law Ostrosky, whose eldest daughter is near death due to some strange illness. Virginia stays home by herself. Anabel, Ostrosky’s youngest daughter, unexpectedly arrives at the house and faints. She is feverish and weak, appearing to have the same symptoms as her sister. Anabel sleeps during the day and is awake all night. Days and nights become intermingled, telephones don’t work and the cold weather and bizarre dreams convert the day to day into something strange. In the middle of all this, Virginia begins to feel attracted to Anabel.
