The Upset Guy aka The Grump is a die-hard old man in his eighties, outspoken and stubborn. He thinks everything was better in the old days, that things should be done the same way they’ve always been done.

Our story unfolds as The Grump falls down on his basement steps, hurting his ankle. His city-dwelling son finds him; the doctor wants to send him to Helsinki to attend physiotherapy. The Grump doesn’t want to go; he has to daily take care of his wife, an Alzheimer patient. The daughter-in-law is a career-woman, not keen to spend time with The Grump when he comes to the city. Her boss has given her the task to look after Russian businessmen, who are supposed to close a deal over the weekend. The business negotiations are about to turn sour, and The Grump decides to help. The daughter-in-law is sweating; The Grump keeps on pushing, not listening because he thinks he knows everything. Finally the daughter-in-law decides that The Grump should check into a hospital right away – which he refuses. The world has changed, there is no return to the old days. Finally, he stays in the hospital, to get the physiotherapy for his leg. Then The Son tells him that the daughter-in-law has left, and that gives new energy to the old man; why did he let her go? The Grump becomes the father he never was, teaching his son how to take care of the loved ones.
