The daily routine of Victor, a bank employee, is interrupted when an anonymous voice on the phone gives him an Internet address. Victor types in the address and to his amazement sees the live image of his wife, gagged and held prisoner in a room by someone in a hood. The voice on the phone says that, if he wants to see Alicia alive again, he has to take the money out of the vault and give it to a girl who will come into the bank in afew minutes. Observed by the security cameras, Victor leaves his desk and opens the vault. When the clock is showing the time given by the anonymous voice, young Ariadna comes into the bank and walks over to Victor’s desk to get the money. The wariness of both ruin the plan: Victor and Ariadna are found out. She takes out a gun and fires into the air to control the situation. After that shot, Ariadna takes the clients and the employees as hostages along with Victor, who has to pretend to be her accomplice. To the hostages’ surprise, Ariadna informs the police of the hold up and also the news staff of Camera in hand, a little-seen television program that offers live coverage of accidents and crimes. Minutes later, the police have cordoned off the area and positioned forces around the bank. The Captain communicates with Ariadna who asks to speak live to the television cameras. A reporter from Camera in hand goes into the bank and gives Ariadna the chance to explain her intentions and set out her demands. Ariadna only asks for another television link up in an hour’s time. She says that then she’ll leave the bank with 200,000 euros. The negotiations, the freeing of the hostages and her escape are going to be broadcast live on television.
