Synopsis

Everyone remembers their high school Dirty Girl. Every high school has one, and Danielle is the Dirty Girl of Norman High. The year is 1987; the place is Norman, Oklahoma and floral print jeans and abstinence are all the rage. When Danielle's outrageous behavior gets her banished to Special Ed, she meets Clarke, a shy, gay closet- case with no friends. Forced together for a school project, they become unwilling and unfit parents to a bag of flour called "Joan". Danielle is determined to get to LA to find the father she has never met. Clarke is desperate to escape being sent to military school by his homophobic dad. So, with no money but propelled by a glorious 80s soundtrack, the dysfunctional little family sets off for California to flee the small town that has kept them both from being their true selves.
