Synopsis

An enchanting television feature based on the classic Lewis Carroll novel.

"A truly magical piece of television. The film is an enchanting visual feast that will astound children and adults alike. It is lavishingly and lovingly filmed. The end result works like a dream." – THE MAIL ON SUNDAY

The continuing adventures of Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland". Every bit as funny and inventive as it's predecessor, the timeless tale of Alice Through the Looking Glass has delighted and entranced readers of all ages for over a hundred years...

Alice climbs through the bedroom mirror and enters a fantasy world. Looking Glass Land is a giant chessboard where everything seems back-to-front and a game of chess is in progress. Alice has become a white pawn in the games and her task is to reach the other side of the board to become a Queen. Under the instruction of the prickly Red Queen, Alice zig-zags across the countryside, meeting colourful characters and bizarre challenges in every square.

Carroll's classic tale, with its timeless and whimsical theme, is easily transposed to a fresh setting. This original and stylish new film version, shot on 35mm and directed by John Henderson (The Borrowers, Loch Ness), is a contemporary telling of the classic story, keeping faith with the book but giving every scene an exciting twist.
