Connie is a foreigner who lives on a beach in Mexico with her partner Vic. Isolated by language and cultural barriers, she is involved in a co-dependent relationship, where Vic is sometimes charming and sometimes subtle in his abuse. He berates her for everyday incidents to the degree that she thinks she's gone crazy. But a conversation with the house worker causes Connie to notice strangeness in Vic's behavior, leading her to find a strange photo in his office, which reveals a dark secret.
