In middle school, lead character, Takuya experiences a major setback in his life and ever since feels repulsion and defiance against his father whose only goal seemed to make Takuya take over the business. Takuya moves to Tokyo to attend college, but unbeknownst to his parents who work as apple farmers in Nagano, he drops out to give his music career a shot. With his music career coming to a slump, Takuya goes through a second phase of sense of failure and loneliness and decides to go back to see his father, Toru for the first time in years. When they meet, he is overcome with feelings of distress and frustration towards his father.We then learn that his father also had unspoken emotions for Takuya....Although at times awkward and cumbersome in their own ways of showing their love, this is a heart-warming story of a young man giving everything to life and his parents who are always there for him.
