Synopsis

Hundreds of people lose their jobs as the result of the closure of a local company. The owner vanishes, leaving his two sons to take responsibility for the consequences of the incident.
Valentín, the younger one, leads an austere life; so simple that he will start to teeter upon the effects of this unexpected inheritance. Cándido, the heir and older brother, will try his best to make Valentín suffer this transference, maintaining a hurtful but unavoidable brotherhood bond between them.
Hopeless workers will look for redemption by all means, good or bad. The public opinion will revolve around this event, pushing Valentín into despair. Certain women will prove to be of comfort to the young man, who finds himself in a delicate state of despair.
Sickened by his own paranoia and obsessed by the elusive situation with his father (escape, suicide, murder?), Valentín will end up driving very far away; to the countryside. But once again, he will be found and reassured by conspiracy.
Almost at the verge of alienation, unexpected bonds will provide him with further insight about his father. This will help him avoid his pursuers.
His brother Cándido will stop feeding on his fears, diving into the apathy of a psychopath. The company will surface again, imperturbably supported by those who set it in motion. Valentín will have evolved, but just like his father, he will stay on the austere path.
