It is a story about the creation of an unprecedented architectural object - an open air theater for flying performances at the foot of the sacred Songshan mountain in Henan province, China. Designed by a European architect and built by a Chinese investor, the building contains an aerodynamic wind tunnel - a glass tube with air steam moving inside of it, strong enough to hold a person up in the air. Originally used for military and skydiving trainings, the wind tunnel will now be the main venue for massive light and music performances of levitating humans. The creators of the new building invite monks from the nearby world-famous Shaolin Monastery to participate in flying performances and name the building Flying Monks Temple. As the process unfolds, the creators themselves have to levitate among cultural differences and different conventions as the attitudes towards the ambitious project differ. The Chinese investor is interested in building the object according to the Western standards, while the European architect highly values Eastern philosophy.
