Synopsis
HERIBERTA, an elderly murderer and practitioner of Palomonte, the darkest branch of Santeria, transforms into a youthful seductress at night, luring men in Cali’s streets. She brings them to her home, where she sacrifices them in sexual rituals to feed with blood the spirit of LUCIO, her deceased husband. Lucio, a perilous criminal and leader of the Palomonte sect, was bound by a dark pact of love with Heriberta under duress.
One night hunting in an Antillean music bar, she unexpectedly meets MARCO, the son of AURELIO, a victim she fell in love with decades before. Marco is the same age and has the same physical appearance as his father had when, subdued by the violent Lucio, she had to sacrifice him. Marco has returned from exile haunted by ghostly visions of his father and nightmares about the unsolved case of his disappearance.
Heriberta projects onto Marco the longing for her lost love and dignity. Since she murdered Aurelio, her life has been meaningless, turned into a kind of sad prostitute at the service of a dead man.
Inevitably, a strong attraction develops between the two. As Marco gets closer and closer to the truth of what happened, Heriberta understands that Lucio will not leave her alone, and that she must not repeat with Marco the fate of death. She decides to break, at any cost, the chains that bind her to the toxic relationship with her husband.
She begs the help of a powerful santero, and through a complex ritual, will seek to weaken Lucio to let herself be loved for the last time, return the corpse of his father to Marco, and end the perpetual hell in which they are all subjected.
