Synopsis
One rainy night in upstate New York, where the only thing more guarded than the old money are the family secrets, a handsome stranger comes to the door of a hilltop mansion.
Alice, beautiful, distant, cold... answers the door. The stranger is oddly familiar with the house, its garden, its contents. He holds Alice in an unsettling embrace and calls her ‘mother’.
After 15 years of absence, Guy Thomas has returned home. He has come back to the place and the people he ran away from. But his grandfather is dead and buried, and with him the memories of tormented past. Yet the man Guy despised so much, the very reason he left and stayed away, has bequeathed his entire fortune to the long-lost boy, leaving Alice with nothing.
In a Hitchcockian tale of twists and turns, of planning and scheming, of double cross and murder, the relationships between mother and son, friend and lover, business and pleasure; all play out in this gripping chronicle. Money, sex and power, are all on the table for the taking. The swindle is afoot, but who is really controlling the game?
This taut phycological thriller has been superbly crafted by Siri Rodnes. Connie Nielsen (Gladiator/Wonderwoman) smolders as the beautiful yet enigmatic Alice. She is supported by Samuel Hunt (Chicago PD), Stef Dawson (Hunger games), Ron Menzel (N.C.I.S.) Cora Vander Broek (Grace & Frankie), Langston Fishburne (Antman & the Wasp) and introducing Maya McGowan.
