Sebastian Poe, a barfly jazz pianist, is trying to make ends meet, gigging at seedy jazz clubsto support his ailing sister Elise (Lori Petty). Work has dried up, and Sebastian becomesindebted to a corrupt police detective, Terry. When he can’t pay, Terry offers him onealternative - he must murder Stanley (Ed Westwick) by the end of the night.
