Synopsis

On paper David’s life could be seen to comfortable. At 48 years old, with 10 years sober, his alcoholic youth seems to be safely in the past; he has a stable relationship with his wife and dotes on his two young sons. His job as a night watchman in a retirement home can involve long hours, but his family lives well. However we scratch the surface just a little, things are not as good as they seem. David’s children are hungry for contact with him. He plies his wife with latest model gadgets and cars, struggles in his free time to pick up the slack in the housework that his wife appears incapable of doing, and keeps the wheels of his life turning with painkillers and antidepressants. But when he begins to suspect that his wife has a lover, his life spirals out of control. His jealousy will tax the relationship as never before, and when he finally confirms his suspicions, his sobriety and indeed his very sanity will be pushed to the limit, as we discover just how far one man will go in order to conserve his family.
