A scheming building owner visits one of his tenants who does not pay his rent. The recalcitrant tenant is surprised when, instead of demanding the debt, the landlord hands him a clock. He returns with an alarm clock, then a pendulum, then another and another. The tenant slowly falls into a psychosis: are the clocks real? Is it a hallucination or is he being manipulated?
