World-renowned, cutting edge architect Davenport Lear (Bruce Dern), nearing retirement, summons his dysfunctional children (Anthony Michael Hall, Sean Astin, Aly Michalka, Nic Bishop, James Hoare) to a weekend family retreat in one of his architectural creations, a magnificent Malibu Estate.
