Synopsis
Hidenori is a South Korean born in Japan and a sophomore in a Japanese senior high school. With his parents divorced, Hidenori is a maltreated boy and does not attend classes for some time. Within himself, he finds a boy that he cannot control. Sometimes driven by impulse, he repeatedly shoplifts. At other times, he secretly photographs scenes of narcotics transactions, and enjoys viewing these pictures at home. Then Yumi appears, a girl who is troubled by an obsessive-compulsive disorder and has a habit of stealing things. They both meet at a bowling alley.
One day, Hidenori is addressed by Nanako, his elder sister, at a station. It is his first meeting in two years with Nanako, who lives with their divorced mother. In Nanako’s room, they make love by the feel of it. A first sexual encounter for Hidenori.
Several days later, he receives a phone call saying that Nanako committed suicide by cutting her own wrist.
Along with Yumi, who he saw on a street by chance, Hidenori sneaks into the hospital at night, stealing Nanako’s corpse. Getting Nanako’s body onto the vehicle of a hoodlum named Taro who happens to be there, they start to head for Kyushu. From Hakata, a ferry reportedly leaves for Pusan. “Big sister has not seen South Korea, even though she’s South Korean. I’d like her to see South Korea, even for a short while.”
So begins the thoughtless trip of three people and a dead body…
