Mother of Mine is a beautiful and touching film about the relationship between mother and child. It tells the story of 9-year-old Eero, who was sent to Sweden as a war child, and his journey to a new mother in a strange land. It is a film about a boy who has two mothers and two homes but feels nowhere at home. More than 70,000 children were evacuated from Finland to Sweden during the Finnish-Russian War (1939-1944). Mother of Mine, by award-winning director Klaus Härö, is the first feature-length film ever made about the fate of an individual war child.
