Synopsis
MISS MOXY is a pretty, musical, and slightly arrogant and domesticated cat, who lives with JOOSJE (9) and her parents in a neighbourhood of a medium-sized city in the Netherlands.
Joosje and Miss Moxy are fond of each other and enjoy playing the piano together. Outside, Miss Moxy has a group of kitty friends, The Pink Ladies. Under PINK's leadership, they rule the neighbourhood, deeming anyone other than them morons who stink or are just for eating.
One day, Joosje and her parents go on a holiday to a farm in the south of France and Joosje smuggles Miss Moxy with her. The holiday farm is run by RITA (40), who seems very nice, but is in fact a very mean and ambitious landlady. Rita has a dog, a boxer called TUUR, that she is training to walk a tightrope, dressed in a sailor suit, in preparation for the Animals Got Talent show. The show will be broadcast around the world. Rita sees an increase in her chances in the beautiful piano-playing Miss Moxy and secretly locks her up in the cellar. Joosje looks for Miss Moxy everywhere, but ultimately the family has to go home without her, leaving both Joosje and Miss Moxy shattered.
Miss Moxy only wants one thing now: to go home. Tuur is a guard at the door of her prison. She devises a ruse by portraying her home as a dog's paradise of freedom and promising to show him how to get there. He steps in and she takes off.
It’s the beginning of a long adventurous journey in which Miss Moxy learns, with considerable reluctance at first, to accept the help of a stupid dog and an old bird, creatures that The Pink Ladies despise back home…
