Tung is a young man who works in a photocopy shop in Nanyang Street. One day, papers from a nearby cram school catch his eyes – under the title, The South Sheep Farm, a different illustration of a sheep’s life appears on the papers each day. The illustrations turn out to be the works of a teaching assistant in a cram school, a girl full of whimsical ideas and dreams of becoming an illustrator but the reality traps her in the job. For now, the only canvas she has is the blank space on the back of exam papers. She expects the students to notice her “South Sheep Farm” series, but they simply ignore it. One afternoon, intrigued by the illustration, Tung scribbles a big wolf and some humorous nonsense to begin a conversation between the wolf and the sheep. It was meant to be a private joke, but the papers are sent back to the school by accident. To his surprise, it causes such sensation not only amongst the students but the residents in the area. Everyone joins in the conversation, and if it wasn’t for the “South Sheep Farm”, one would never discover such amazing characters hidden in Nanyang Street including the charming cook at the fried-rice place, the enigmatic priest and the neighbourhood magistrate. Now the “South Sheep Farm” on the back of the papers has become a boisterous forum for everyone and it turns the affair into a magical love story…
