Recently retired Harold Fry gets a letter from a former colleague, Queenie. She’s in hospice dying of cancer. While posting a letter to her in his small English village, he suddenly decides to walk 500 miles to see her, believing he can keep her alive by giving her something to look forward to. He forgets his phone and leaves without saying goodbye to his wife, Maureen.
