2011. In the wake of her husband’s death, Hisae (79) tells a story to her family about a tragic event that occurred during end of WWⅡ. August 10, 1945. Imperial Army Major Mashiba was assigned to a secret mission by Army Minister Anami to hide MacArthur’s treasure, in a cave deep in the mountains. The treasure was worth JPY 90 billion (approx USD2 trillion today) and the Japanese army needed it to rebuild the country once Japan defeat the war, which was becoming realistic by this time. Together with Lieutenant Koizumi, First Sergeant Mochizuki, and the help of 20 school girls including Hisae who were assigned to this mission, Mashiba accomplish this mission. Hisae and the 19 girls were told their mission was to carry a “concealed weapon” into the cave, a weapon that would save their country. Not knowing the “weapon” was MacArthur’s treasure, the girls devote themselves to the task as they believed that this will help their country to win the war. Near the end of the mission, Mashiba receives another order from the top. A ruthless, life-or-death order to the 20 girls…
