Piazza Vittorio is the largest Roman square. It is distinguished, the square and adjacent neighborhoods of the Esquilino, for the multiethnic variety of its inhabitants. We find a group of close and far-away ethnicities: Italian, Asiatic, North African, Indians who make the square and the neighborhood lively but at the same time difficult to manage.Just because of its unique and colorful nature it’s the residence of many artists and personalities linked to the world of cinema, such as Paolo Sorrentino, Matteo Garrone (both residents of Piazza Vittorio). One of these is also Master Abel Ferrara, who has decided to tell this world with his independent and poetic vision, putting himself physically in play in the movie.A surreal and neo-realistic day comes out with interviews with illegal immigrants, clochards, artists, business owners and politicians who give their personal testimony. It is not just the story of a square, but the story of a changing Italy, which seeks at all costs the way of integration, often underestimating the side effects.
