In 1945, after the Nazi camps were liberated, Neus Català, a feminist and a republican, returnsto France, where she hopes to be reunited with her husband, Albert. As she rebuilds her newlife as a free woman, she remembers the events that took place the previous year, when, asa prisoner of the Nazis, she was sent to work in a military weapons factory in Czechoslovakia.In order to continue the fight and maintain her resistance, Neus became the leader of groupof women who sabotaged the weapons factory, much to the desperation of the Nazis. Thisgroup of women was called the Gandulas Commando.
