When Christine (37) inherits her parental home, she and her family decide to move there. Her nine-year-old daughter Lisa discovers a strange and sinister girl named Karen living in the dark corners of the old house. Karen tells Lisa she is the dead twin sister of her mother, who poisoned her when they were nine. She explains this is why her mother doesn’t love her: every day Christine recognizes her dead sister’s face in Lisa’s… When the parents find out what’s going on, they tell Lisa there was no twin sister, so the ghost cannot exist. But Karen starts to increasingly dominate Lisa and causes malicious accidents. Lisa cries for help, but it is Christine’s strange reaction that awakens suspicions in Lisa’s father, Paul’s, heart. Slowly he begins to suspect his wife of hiding a terrible secret, resulting in deadly consequences...
