Samuel (53) is a professional chess player that could have become Grand Master if he hadn’t lost the most important tournament of his career. He became a math teacher and makes his living of small bets on games that he knows by heart. Spends his time in an old coffee shop and a chess club, with his friends Joaquín (68) and Marcos (72).Joaquín is a watchmaker and has a repair shop he inherited from his father, but it doesn’t give him enough money to live. Was evicted from his home months ago and forced to sleep on the shop. Unable to change his life, he’s resigned to be a spectator of his own shipwreck. Although he is a Basque, all that ties Marcos to his country is the allowance that his son sends him every month. He still works as a doctor, but his true vocation is poker.While Samuel trains a pupil, Joaquín tries to keep his workshop and Marcos finds out why his allowance does not arrive, the daily lives of these men begins to change and they understand that in life, as in love, is never too late to risk losing.
