Synopsis

Squabbling siblings Patrick and Marilyn have always driven each other a little crazy. But when Marilyn brings home her new TV-star fiancé, Ryan, it seems to drive Patrick over the edge. First, he tries to drive a wedge between the happy couple… then he reaches for sharper instruments. Every family has a few skeletons in the closet; "A Dog’s Breakfast" is the hell-of-a-mess Patrick makes when he tries to add another to his.

Behind this diabolically dysfunctional family film, is a diabolically dysfunctional, real-life, family. For David Hewlett's writing and directing debut he has married the talents of his real-life partner, producer Jane Loughman and sister, actress Kate Hewlett with his extended "Stargate" family, actors Paul McGillion, Chris Judge, Rachel Luttrell and producer John G. Lenic. Even the titular star is his lovable mutt, Mars!
