Synopsis

"Black Mill" is an adventure film created with high production values, which has never been seen in Poland before! The plot is based on one of the most popular books written by the master of Polish youth literature, Marcin Szczygielski. The film was created by Mariusz Palej, author of "Behind the Blue Door", appreciated both in Poland and abroad. Apart from fantastic young actors, the film also stars Marcin Dorociński (Netflix’s ‘Queen’s Gambit’), Janusz Chabior and Magdalena Nieć.
Iwo and his group of friends live in a small town, where experiencing something exciting close to the miracle. The boy's life is additionally complicated because his younger sister Mela requires special care. The adventurous friends start to be fascinated by the ruins of a huge factory mill towering over the area, called by the locals Black Mill. When, despite warnings, kids enter the forbidden area, a series of strange events begins in the previously idyllic, yet shabby town. They discover that the mill is home to a mysterious force that may pose a great threat. The kids will have to stick together to oppose the evil. But nothing can prepare them for the surprising finale of the battle. An important role in it will be played not only by the increasingly mature and responsible Iwo, supported by Piotr and Natalka, between whom a worm feeling is born. Mela, whose seeming weakness will turn out to have an extraordinary gift, will also have an unexpected influence on the events.
