Featuring the voice talent of Wagner Moura (Elysium), MY UNCLE JOSÉ takes place in Brazil, after the shooting of Adonias’ uncle José. A member of a left-wing political group who participated in the kidnap of the American Ambassador, Charles Elbrick, in 1969 and remained in exile for 10 years before returning to Brazil, only to be murdered in a crime motivated by ideo-political leanings that remains unsolved to this day. On the day of the attack, Adonias is given an assignment to write an essay on a theme of his choosing. Upon hearing the news of the shooting, Adonias, while struggling to handle the emotional strain, becomes intrigued by his uncle’s story and decides his essay will be about his uncle José. While receiving top marks for the essay, Adonias feelings of joy are contradicted by the news of his uncle’s death.
