A young father - Heli - and his family are living in a small town in Mexico in a time when violence and corruption rule the country. One day the family is kidnapped and made to suffer for a crime they did not commit. In HELI director Amat Escalante visualizes his unvarnished opinion on Southern American society and politics. In a system that becomes ever more corrupt, time and again the commoner is forced in a position to choose between two evils.
