Synopsis
【INTRODUCTION】
A TV series adaptation of a popular manga with the same title by Nodoka Tsurimaki of Ku-on no Mori based on a story co-developed by Masayuki Qusumi of Solitary Gourmet.
Nono Samejima, a rickshaw puller in Asakusa, an old neighborhood in Tokyo, visits quaint bathhouses with Kukiko Yuge, Nono’s landlord’s granddaughter who lives in the same apartment building, and Alyssa Libera, a foreign exchange student. A heartwarming—and also body-warming—story that soothes the mind and spirit about these three women who deepen their friendship through their “naked camaraderie.” Nono, the main character, is played by Nao, one of the most talked-about actresses today who appears in numerous TV series, movies, and commercials.
She captured public and media interest with her role as the heroine’s best friend in NHK drama series Half Blue. Kukiko is played by Sayaka Tomaru who has a diverse career as an actress and a glamour model. Alyssa is played by Yu Takahashi, a model and an actress who is in great demand by variety shows. And Chiyako, Nono’s landlord and the owner of the Yuge-so Apartments, is played by Toshie Negishi, an accomplished actress with an expansive filmography of movies and TV series.
【STORY】
Nono Samejima, a rickshaw puller in Asakusa, loves bathing at bathhouses. One day at a bathhouse, she sees a notice pinned on the wall seeking tenants for the Yuge-so Apartments. “Rent 40,000 yen, 10-m2 studio, no bath, shared bathroom but... tenants may bathe in the bathhouse as often as they want.” Nono is delighted by the description and goes to check out the apartment.
At the Yuge-so Apartments, as landlord Chiyako Yuge explains the lease agreement to Nono, the conversation somehow turns to Chiyako’s granddaughter Kukiko, and Nono ends up accepting a part-time job as her dog walker. But when Nono heads to the rendezvous...
