A wooden box is discovered buried in a playground in Central Stockholm. Inside the box is the body of a well know prosecutor. To their horror, Beck and his team realize that the prosecutor was buried alive. They find couplings to a gang of bikers, whose leader has just been released from prison. But when he is later found dead in a similar wooden box, the investigation takes a different turn. More wooden boxes are discovered around Stockholm. All the victims have been killed in the same horrendous manner. Beck realizes that they are up against a sadistic serial killer who is playing a game with them and who always seems to be one step ahead. When will the killer strike again and who will be his next victim?
