Synopsis

On a fine morning, Stanislas Graff, a powerful industrial is kidnapped by a gang of thugs in front of his apartment building. It’s the start of an ordeal that will last for several weeks. Amputated, humiliated, deprived of any basic humanity, Graff resists, letting nothing show. He accepts everything without rebelling, without a scream, without complaining, and responds to his aggressors’ barbarity with dignity.
Cut off from the outside world, receiving only scraps of information from his jailors, Graff can’t understand why no one wants to pay the ransom that could set him free. Outside, his world is gradually falling apart as his true character is revealed. Everything that he had managed to keep to himself until then is revealed to his family, either by the police or by the press. They discover a man who is far from what they imagined. When Graff is set free, it is only to find that he has lost everything. His family’s love, his colleagues’ respect, his power, his trust in those dearest to him.
Rapt! is a story about power, about challenges and doubts, about the loss of power. It’s a story about the centre and the periphery, about the meeting of different worlds. Industry and politics, but also thugs, charging into skittles like a pack of dogs, knocking everything over on their path, smashing all sense of balance into pieces.
It’s a story about leads, about fast outside lanes, train stations, underground stations. A story where crowds are a place to hide, where the city is a world in itself.
